General Advantages and Disadvantages of Wide Area Network

Internet was never possible without the invention of intelligent switches, satellites, fibre optic cables and LAN cards. Those who find it difficult to get idea of wide area network, internet is one live example of it. Before we look into Wide Area Network (WAN), we must have an understanding of what is Local Area Network (LAN).

Local Area Network, as the name suggests, is a network built in a limited area by using LAN cables, switches and LAN cards. One example is a network of a university or a business office at one location. The computers on a Local Area Network are connected to a network switch. You can either make this network a workgroup (share limited resources) or domain (share all kind of resources and services). On domain, you have the privilege to grant permissions to users to share resources or limit them to use certain services. As LAN can only work within a certain distance, we need WAN to connect institutions and offices at different locations.

WAN connects two or more LANs, and this is possible with the use of devices like routers. There are many ways to build a Wide area network. You can either lay down your own cables between two or more locations or you can use leased lines. Most companies use leased lines as very limited companies can bear the cost of thousands pounds for it.

General Advantages and Disadvantages of Wide Area Network

The businesses and institutions get leased lines from different service providers and pay them on monthly basis. Today, many companies are establishing Virtual Private Network (VAN) by using leased lines. A VAN can be established by buying Live IPs from the service provider, at two or more different locations. To secure this network, the Network Administrator uses routers and firewalls to secure the network.

On WAN, the users at different locations are connected to a central server. The name of this computer is server because it is there to serve all the computers on the network. All the computers on the network are connected to central database on the server. These computers save data at real time, send queries to server and fetch reports at the same time. The banking system is a very good example of a WAN network.

The benefits of a Wide area network are unlimited. You sit in one country, and the office in the other country is just like a room next door. You can share documents, reports, prints, query databases, search through thousands of records in just quick seconds, monitor distant location offices by using digital cameras and do much more. The advantages of a Wide area network are infinite; it is up to you what benefits you want to get using this technology; the sophistication obviously increases with the cost factor.

With many advantages of Wide area network, there are also some disadvantages associated, which though can be addressed by using latest technologies. On WAN, the security is a big factor. When you connect on the internet using Live IPs, anyone can intrude in and hack your system. For this purpose, firewalls and routers securities are implemented, which definitely come with on the expense of thousands pounds. The latency period on WAN is high, but it can also be addressed by taking high speed internet connections. To establish a Wide Area Network, the businesses and institutions need a lot of money, as technologies that make your network secure as well as serve your needs are very costly.

Global Data Entry Appraisal - Review

The Website

A few remarks about the website itself. Nothing really stands out. The site is a bit of a disappointment I suppose in one way but then again lots of sites that are full of all sorts of outrageous claims are very eye catching. That really is the problem with a lot of these sites as they don't stand up to their website appearances and colorful promises. This website is relatively understated and their claims appear to be factual and sincere. The course is available to all apparently and can be operated by anyone with a computer and internet access. They claim you can earn money but the overall impression I got was that you will have to work at it. In my mind you certainly will have to carry out some sort of work eventually as no-one gives you money for nothing. There is email support that states they will respond within 24 hours along with a money back guarantee should you be dissatisfied with the course contents.

Course Acceptance And First Page

Global Data Entry Appraisal - Review

Having signed up using PayPal I received my password and logged in. Following the bold red print on the login page I moved onto the introduction. The introduction was pretty comprehensive and it took a while to read through it a few times. On there were links to useful FREE tools, reference/help guides such as typing tutors, along with a very powerful FREE word processing package (I am using it to write this). I was quite taken aback by how comprehensive a package it was. What exactly Data Entry is and how you should go about making money was written in a manner that was easy to follow. The Data Entry Team make full allowance for anyone with very little knowledge of computers. There are videos outlining nearly every aspect of Data Entry work. These videos are invaluable as you can see exactly what you have to do at all times. If you get stuck you can watch the video over again.

Once I had read the first page over and over a few times and downloaded any tool or software I needed I decided to start at the beginning really and take the plunge with Global Data Entry Training Part 1, 2 and 3. I am, like you maybe, a complete novice at data entry so to start at the beginning made sense to me. The other parts of the course are: Traditional Data Entry Training & Traditional Data Entry Job Opportunities, Data-Entry Research Training & Jobs (Will Be Listed In The Training Course), Home-Typing Training, Audio Transcription Training & Audio Transcription Jobs, along with Members Bonuses which includes other very impressive FREE Work From Home Opportunities that are non Data-Entry.

This review is only about Global Data Entry Training Part 1, 2 and 3 as previously mentioned in my introduction.

Global Data Entry Training Part 1

You learn exactly what Data Entry is and what it entails with regard to the type of work you will be expected to perform. I had no idea really what Data Entry was but after taking in the wealth of typed information and watching the videos I quickly became very well informed. Part 1 covers many aspects of Data Entry and opens many doors that I would never have opened otherwise. I can't divulge what the course is obviously but you will probably be taken aback by the effort involved by the Data Entry Team in their endeavors not to leave any stone unturned. There are a total of 12 videos to help you learn all about Data Entry, where and how to find the best companies and how to get paid. Once you read Part 1 a few times, watched the videos and followed all the instructions you will be ready for Part 2.

Global Data Entry Training Part 2

Here you will learn how to get your work posted essentially. Not only this but you will learn how to make sure you get maximum advertising and return. It took me a few days to assimilate all this new knowledge and I jotted down some notes to help me along. I found though that I quickly learned how to carry out my work once I tried to put it all into practice. You need to approach the work in a methodical manner starting with one job and then moving to the next until all your tasks are completed. By the way there are 19 videos to help you along every step of the way this is in addition to the 12 on Part 1!

Global Data Entry Training Part 3

This part of the course deals in paid advertising. Some really important tips can be found here which could help save a great deal of money. I had never heard of some of the companies that were recommended. Also Global Data Entry had carried out a paid for survey of a number of  'pay per click' advertising concerns and show the results. By paying attention to part 3 you are much more likely to get a return for any advertising you decide to pay for.

Software Fix

There was one piece of FREE software that I downloaded 'Easy Submit Website' that didn't work on my computer. There was a warning in Part 2 with regard to this and I was a little disappointed to find that my computer setup was in this category. Having an extensive background in computers I quickly learned how to fix the issue though. Should your computer also fail to run this software you can visit this URL: Ascentive Library Installer. Look for the file 'libraryfiles.exe' and download it. Once I had run this file the software worked. Apparently on Windows XP (which I use) there are missing files which also need to be registered for this software to work.

Summation of Course

All I have done with my review is to jot down a little of my experience of trying this course myself. Don't forget I have only worked my way through what is essentially less than a fifth of the overall course. It has taken me a few days to get as far as I have. The end result of which I have nearly completed all my daily routine. I can see that the only way to master this course is to continue to follow the recommendations by the Data Entry Team exactly. Practice makes perfect hopefully.

Will I make money from this course?

Too early to say to be honest. My first concern has been well and truly put to bed though as this company and course is far from being a scam. I am quite impressed with all the knowledge I have gained. There is no way I would have found out such information without signing up for some Data Entry course or other. When you consider I have just written about one part of the course this is even more reassuring. So far so good!

15 Ways For Teachers to Get Organized For the Beginning of the School Year

All teachers need a user-friendly system to help stay on top of the endless marking, checking and workpages. Plan as thoroughly as you can and if you don't already have one, develop a system of organization. It's truly amazing how much paperwork and marking goes into the first year. It's easy for a new teacher to feel overwhelmed and confused. Try to avoid these initial feelings by planning your lessons ahead as much as you can. Rely on a system that is easy and user friendly. Consider these tips when organizing or opening your classroom for the fall semester.

Remember, being well organized and having well prepared lessons are also important to having a well-managed class.

1) Have a computer backup plan. Purchase a flash drive, a hard drive, or consider creating a Google documents account.

15 Ways For Teachers to Get Organized For the Beginning of the School Year

2) If you use a paper-based program, prepare everything you need for a smooth entry into the school year. Prepare important calendar dates; wait until your class is established to copy in the students. If you've working with an electronic system, decide on the grade weights or averaging system and establish the formula in the software.

Make sure you have a storage plan.

3) Have a plan for storing handouts like a stacking/filing system and a specific location for finding those stacks. Keep only 1 master copy of each file and recycle last year's bulk copies. Make sure you have a copy on your computer!

4) Prepare a make-up work plan and location that is ready for action by the first day of school. You never know when you'll need it!

5) Choose a location for this year's paperwork. If you keep an individual student file for each student, have an organizational system for each class. If you keep a separate file for each course or section, organize by that system too. Try really, really, really hard to have an empty file cabinet drawer for this year. You can at least lay the papers down in the file cabinet and close the drawer, even if there's no time or perhaps need to file in folders.

6) Old pictures and newspaper clippings tend to yellow and turn brittle. Laminate colorful pictures and recycle the rest. Libraries are a great place to donate unwanted textbooks and old readers that students no longer need.

7) For teachers in a staff teaching the same grade(s), a communal file or folder can be helpful for quick and easy access of workpages. Again, these should be divided into skill-sets and subjects.

Organize your own supplementary resource material. This can be a teacher's checklist that you consult and use frequently, some uplifting words for bad days, or a a list of reminders.

9) Have a folder with the school policies and regulations. You should especially know where you stand in terms of how your school deals with discipline problems. Having this file within easy access will definitely help you when you are confronted with difficult and unanticipated classroom situations, which undoubtedly will happen.

10) If you are a reading teacher, you might want to have a folder for informal reading comments as you listen to your students read the first week. Pre-assessments e-assessments) during the first weeks of school are especially important for getting to know your students.

11) Have folders with letters ready to send home on first or second day to parents. You may consider a separate drawer with different letter folders.

12) Keep a folder with the necessary handouts for any new student that may arrive a week or a month later. There's nothing worse than running around the room looking for important handouts for a new student!

13) If applicable, hang a bus list. Keep an extra copy in your folder.

14) Make sure you have a schedule for lunch and PE posted. This is VERY important to the students. Again, keep a master copy in your folder.

15) Have a folder with blank journal templates for the first day of school. Younger students can write a letter to their parents telling them all the things they learned that day. Older ones can write a list of goals setting their intentions for a good school year. Keep additional folders of blank seating charts, blank papers and other templates.
